Made this in a MOPS make ahead meals day. No need to pre-cook the lasagna noodles and no special kind needed! This is the only way I make lasagna now. Also freezes well.
Lasagna ingredients:
1 can spaghetti sauce (24 oz)
1 container cottage cheese (24 oz)
half of a 1 lb. box of lasagna noodles, uncooked (9-10 noodles)
4 c mozzarella cheese
1 lb. cooked and drained hamburger, combined with;
1 teaspoon EACH garlic powder, onion powder, and italian seasoning
layer in a 9×13 pan:
3 dry lasagna noodles
1/3 can sauce
1/2 container cottage cheese
1/2 of the seasoned meat
1 c mozzarella cheese
repeat, with noodles going the other direction
then finish with:
3 noodles, same direction as the first
1/3 can sauce
2 cups mozzarella cheese
Cover with foil and refrigerate, freeze, or bake.
If frozen, pull out of freezer and thaw in fridge for 24 hours.
Bake covered pan at 350 for 1 hour, remove foil in last 15 minutes to brown cheese if desired.
Let stand for 15 minutes before serving to cool and absorb the juices so it wont be runny!
